Whatever you do, don’t cough, don’t move, don’t breathe

The Boston Symphony Orchestra

The Boston Symphony Orchestra performed at Symphony Hall was an unforgettable experience. Listening to music that could almost be described as perfect was beyond belief. As you sit and listen you become wrapped into the different sounds and notes being played together. Watching the bows of the violins moving up and down exactly in sync puts you in a trance. Some pieces being accompanied by a choir were able to give the audience goosebumps. This performance is so well known and loved for a reason.
The piece composed by Debussy named Nocturnes accompanied by the Women of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus was the most complex piece. At times, it seemed as if the orchestra was backing up the vocal and at other times the rolls reversed. It all flowed together so smoothly which was very impressive. The hum of the violins reminds you of something sweet and the sudden bursts of sound reminds you of when the flavors change. You never want the piece to end.
The concert hall was old but beautiful. The hardwood floors would squeak when u step and the backs of the seats were all connected with nice leather details. Up above the balcony were these roman figures carved in marble, that dominated the wall space. They each sat in lit coves making their presence even more intense. Every move you make tends to cause the seats to shake because the building is so old. You have to be careful not to move during the performance. This is a small price to pay to be able to see and sit in these very old and historic seats. On the very tall stage, there was a lot of organ pipes that took up most of the back wall of the stage. The light-colored walls and the shiny organ lit up the stage drawing your attention in.
It was also a great experience to hear the legendary music of Beethoven be performed by such a great Orchestra. They performed Symphony NO. 7 in a Opus 92. Being able to listen to a piece by him live is unforgettable. The intensity that comes with listening to Beethoven captures your attention. Knowing that he wasn’t able to hear what he was writing and producing something that well created is unimaginable.

Overall the experience you will have at the Boston Symphony Orchestra is one you will never forget. It is worth going at least once in your life to hear this incredible performance and witness the beautiful historic hall.
