A Gulp of Spice

The
slurping noodles weren’t the only sounds you could hear in Wagamama that day.
Wagamama is a restaurant founded by Alan Yau in 1992. This restaurant serves
East Asian food with the flair of a Japanese ramen bar. The time I spent at
Wagamama, I ordered teriyaki chicken donburi, which is a very popular meal
there. The dish seemed to look better than it tasted. It had a very fruity and
sweet taste even though I expected the chicken to be flavorful and delicious.
It seemed to lack flavor, although when hints of flavor came up it was quite
savory. The wait staff mentioned that they had changed the look of the dish, so
it was exciting to see them shake up the appearance of the dishes, which is a
fault in many restaurants. The food came out very quickly, so eating right away
was a good thing because waiting in restaurants is worse than having your food
taste bad. The décor was well done; it was a pleasure to just sit and view the
restaurant because of the color and modern vibe of the place. Overall this
restaurant was a fun and neat experience to involve yourself in.
