Metamorphosis, reviewed by Rakel Abellan

Who is the real monster? by Rakel Abellán

Metamorphosis is a story by Franz Kafka directed and adapted in a theater production by David Farr and Gisil Örn Gatdarsson. This play is being performed at the Fomenko Theater in Boston. The protagonist – Gregor – turns into a cockroach overnight and the characters of his family abuse him multiple times due to the fear they feel towards him. By this, the actors are trying to portray the value of our intentions instead of or physical attributes.
This performance was for me the right play to watch, it leaves the public thinking about what it could mean and all its themes.  It is hard to critique it due to its ambiguity and that is why everyone should go watch it and see what they take out of it. Overall, Metamorphosis is a great play with a lot of deep meaning behind it.
