Inspiration finds out it´s home by Sofia Riano Alonso-Olea

            Wadworth Atheneum, being the oldest public art museum in the United States keeps impressing people every day with all different kinds and types of art. In the Harford Courant Room, full with different types of art, you can find a very new and impressive painting, Slip Away by Elizabeth Murray.  With a large amount of art, the museum continues to attract a large number of vistors everyday. One of the current exhibitions that you can find in the museum is Carvaggio and His Legacy.

            Contrast between dark and light, dramatic, realistic, poor people or homeless transform into ¨gods¨ and philosophers, is what you will find when viewing Carvaggio’s work. He was an inspiration for many different painters such as Ribera, Orazio Gentislechi and George de la Tours. Carvaggio and his work are still recognized as important.
