The Harvard Art Museum is located on the Harvard campus and contains
many exquisite pieces of art. Throughout the whole museum, one piece called The
Instructive and Appetizing Meal by Gabriel Jacques de Saint-Aubin, was
extremely captivating. This piece was located in the drawing section and was
created with tones of grey, with black and blue ink and put in a gold frame
much bigger than the piece of artwork itself. The detail within this piece of
artwork is impeccable considering how small the piece is. Details in the
background of the piece are somewhat faded, which creates a calming nighttime
affect to the piece. Overall, this specific piece of artwork is extremely
relaxing due to the expressions on peoples’ faces, the light shading in the
background, and the shocking amount of details within the piece.
