Lucca
review by Shannon Wu
Food that
was so well cooked, served by some friendliest people. Lucca, located in Back
Bay, Boston, was a phenomenal Italian restaurant that would serve you not only
yummy food, but also a great time.
First walked
into Lucca, warm smiles came to greet every guest they got. Your glass of water
would never be unfilled more than five minutes. Not only the service deserved a
five star, but their food did, too.
From their
appetizers to get you started, you began your delicious journey. Gnocchi, made
with potato dumplings, duck confit, Brussels sprouts, rosemary apple purée, and
cider butter, was a delicious dish that contained layers of surprises and tastes
within the ingredients they used. Another typical Italian dish, the Salumi,
included sliced cured meats with accompaniments and crostini, was a dish that
you cannot miss and would never go wrong. In additional to another appetizer
that was truly recommended was the Mussels. For people who fear the taste of
seafood, this dish may seem overwhelming and out of consideration. However,
these mussels were over the top tasty that honestly could be the first dish to
make you fall in love with seafood. The mussels were cooked in a sweet white
wine broth that compliments the mussels perfectly. You just go for one after
another!
The most
important part of a meal, the entrée, as well did not disappoint. The Filet,
grilled with grass fed tenderloin, roasted mushrooms, roasted Cipollini onions,
bone marrow-truffle butter, garlic mashed potatoes, and red wine jus, truly
caused speechlessness. Cut into the steak, the meat separated from each other
softly, and the fragrant of the steak became so present that you just couldn’t
wait to put a piece of that juicy piece of meat into your mouth. Tasting the
steak with the onions and mushrooms on the side added on another layer of
interesting flavor.
Ending the
meal with some of the creamiest cheesecake in Back Bay made the whole
experience at Lucca a complete success. Right when you think this whole
greatness was over, the warm smiles came to great you again and offer to put
your coats on for you before your leaving. What a luxury!
