Rose Art Museum
review by Shannon Wu
Is it an
art or a living room for rest? The Undisciplined Collector is Mark Dion’s
permanent installation displayed in the Rose Art Museum in Brandeis University.
A selection of items that related to the Brandeis history, The Undisciplined
Collector gathered all sorts of object to help viewer learn more about
Brandeis. From records, radios, photos, to an old couch, every piece built up a
comfortable space for visitors to relax when they got tired walking around the
museum. Even though the piece seemed confusing at first as people might not
know if it was part of an art, that was the beauty of this piece. It gave
people a sense of comfort and eases from the nervous and careful feeling people
usually get in a museum.
